Solution

Cross-border corridors that settle in rand, 24/7.

Open rand corridors with on-chain finality and no correspondent chain. Each corridor is subject to exchange control, licensing and partner terms in the countries it touches.

The operational problem

What the current flow costs you.

Correspondent banking corridors into and out of South Africa are slow and costly. The World Bank puts Southern African corridor averages between 12% and 31% for small transfers. Settlement waits for business days, and each hop adds a spread. Platforms that route through USD stablecoins add FX exposure on both ends.

How ZARP changes the flow

Four steps, in rand, on-chain.

  1. Collect. Your platform receives rand from the sender through a licensed on-ramp partner and holds ZARP.
  2. Move. ZARP transfers to your payout partner's wallet in the destination market in seconds, at any hour.
  3. Pay out. The payout partner converts to local currency or pays a merchant directly, under its own licence.
  4. Reconcile. Every leg has an on-chain record. Reconcile per transaction, not per batch.

Who it is for

Built for these teams.

Remittance and payout platforms

Replace correspondent hops with one on-chain leg between licensed partners.

Marketplaces and gig platforms

Pay sellers and workers across the region in rand value on the same day.

Corporate payment providers

Settle supplier and intercompany payments with a rand leg that does not wait for cut-offs.

Example transaction journey

One transaction, end to end.

  1. A fleet operator funds a PumpPay fleet account in rand.
  2. A driver makes an authorised purchase at a participating fuel merchant.
  3. The purchase settles in ZARP on-chain. It is final on arrival, at any hour.
  4. The merchant holds ZARP or redeems to rand through an ecosystem partner.

Example journey based on PumpPay, a listed ZARP ecosystem partner for fuel payments. The same pattern applies to a cross-border corridor: a funded account, an authorised transaction, on-chain settlement in ZARP and a merchant or payout partner at the end. PumpPay listing. Illustrative estimate. Actual costs depend on partner, corridor, volume and applicable fees. Model assumptions: card acquiring at 2.75%, the midpoint of the 2% to 3.5% range typical for South African card acquiring. Bank and corridor averages: World Bank Remittance Prices Worldwide, Q3 2025. ZARP rails: a 0.5% on-ramp fee, a 0.5% off-ramp fee and R2 in network fees per transaction. Float in settlement is monthly volume multiplied by settlement days over 30. Network and partner fees may apply. Not a quote.

Qualified benefits

What you get, and what applies.

Lower corridor cost at volume

The settlement leg costs on-ramp, off-ramp and network fees. Partner fees apply. See the calculator.

24/7 settlement

On-chain finality on weekends and public holidays. Payout timing depends on the local partner.

No USD detour

Rand value moves as rand. The destination partner converts one time, under its own terms.

Per-transaction proof

An immutable record for every leg supports audit, dispute and reporting.

Compliance and partner requirements

What onboarding requires.

  • South African exchange control rules apply to cross-border flows. Your authorised dealer or licence status determines what you can do.
  • Licensing in the destination market is held by you or your payout partner.
  • Formal KYB and compliance review with the issuer before mint and redemption access.
  • Sanctions screening and travel-rule obligations remain with the licensed parties.

1 ZARP is redeemable 1:1 for rand through eligible partners. Network and partner fees may apply. Access is subject to applicable law, exchange control and partner terms.
